“Walking Without Transmitting Data: An Exploration of Data Centres and (In)visible Lines”

A guided walk around Senate House to explore London’s data centres and AI infrastructure. Inspired by projects like Dark Fibre Network we will trace invisible data routes and build cognitive maps to visualize the resources required to power the cloud and AI, without transmitting any data ourselves. Part of the Livingmaps Network Conference.

Biography

Dr. Blake Morris is an artist, researcher and author with over fifteen years experience creating walking art. His work has been seen in London; New York City; Fresno, California; Atotonilco, México and more. Author of Walking Networks: The Development of an Artistic Medium (London: Bloomsbury, 2020) and Antonin Artaud (London: Routledge, 2022), he is an expert in participatory and site-specific practices, as well as the history of artistic walking practice and the avant-garde. He currently lives and works between Colima, México and New York City. He holds a PhD in Applied Theatre, Drama and Performance from the University of East London.

Biografia

Dr. Blake Morris es un artista e investigador enfocado en el arte de caminar con mas de 15 años de experiencia. Blake ha presentado obras de caminar en Londres, NYC, Fresno, California, Atotonilco, Méxcio y otras ciudades del mundo. Ahora él vive entre Colima, México y Nueva York. Además es escritor de los libros Walking Networks: The Development of an Artistic Medium [Redes de Caminar: el desarrollo de un medio artístico] (London: Bloomsbury, 2020) y Antonin Artaud (London: Routledge, 2022). Blake es un experto en tipos de arte experimental, participativa y de las intervenciones urbanas/pública. Estudió Teatro y Literatura en la Universidad de Santa Cruz, California (2005) y tiene un doctorado en Drama, Teatro Aplicado y Artes Escénicas por la Universidad del Este de Londres (2017).
